Sleep Sweet Jesus...

She asked him, "What should I call you?

Man? But your conception is divine.

God? But you are clothed with our flesh and blood.

What shall I do for you? Shall I nurse you with my milk or glorify you?

Shall I care for you like a mother or worship you like a maidservant?

Shall I kiss you like my son or pray to you like my God?

Should I give you milk or incense?

What an ineffable mystery!

Heaven uses you as a throne and you lie in my arms!

You give yourself wholly to the inhabitants of the earth,

Yet you do not deprive Heaven of your presence."

O' Night Divine...

With the Holy Night fast approaching I feel like that small shepherd who is so poor... I have nothing to bring to the Christ Child but my empty hands.

Thank you...Billy Gilman - O Holy Night - a video presentation from rantr13 n' youtube.

Father Cantalamessa’s Christmas reflection: "This emptying of one's hands and pockets of every pretension, in a spirit of poverty and humility, is the best way to prepare for Christmas.

"We are reminded of it by a delightful Christmas legend that I would like to mention again. It narrates that among the shepherds who ran on Christmas night to adore the Child, there was one who was so poor that he had nothing to offer and was very ashamed. Reaching the grotto all competed to offer their gifts. Mary did not know what to do to receive them all, having to hold the Child in her arms.

"Then, seeing the shepherd with his hands free, she entrusted Jesus to him. To have empty hands was his fortune and, on another plane, will also be ours."

May your Christmas be of empty hands,

Advent...Do You Need A Road Map?

This morning I began an Advent Retreat while listening to Franciscan Father Jim Van Verst... each week he leads us through a reflection based on the weeks scripture. I'm all ready, bags are packed and setting out on my journey to the manger. Can you just imagine our God who became a small helpless infant leaving... footprints for each of us?
So as you prepare for Christmas set aside about 30 minuets and be prepared to be in the presence of our Lord... to continue on the journey to eternity!

Here is the song Father Jim speaks of... "You'll Never Walk Alone" sung by The Three Tenors.

The Beauty of a Lily...

Do you want to be like a lily?

A lily does not worry about tomorrow; for each day has enough worries of its own. Can you, for all your worrying change anything on your own? God's plans are laid out for us and we must trust Jesus entirely! So, do you want to be a lily?

St. John Chrysostom wrote. In fact they are Your words, Your words to us through me; this is what You said:

"I, your father, I, your spouse, I, your home, I, your nurse, I, your root, I, your foundation. What ever you want. I will be. You lack nothing. I will work for you. For I came to serve and not to be served. I will be your friend and your host, your head and your brother, your sister and your mother. I will be everything. Only be intimate with me!
I will be poor for you, errant for you, on the Cross for you, in the tomb for you. Above I plead with the Father for your sake, on earth I became intercessor to the Father for your sake. You are everything for Me, brother, co-heir, friend and member. What more do you want?"

Don't worry about tomorrow. It will take care of itself. You have enough to worry about today. Matthew 6:34

O Lord, let me become repulsed of all that does not come from You, keep me hidden in You, give me wisdom to instruct me so that You through me can accomplish Your designs on Your Church. Let me , by inhaling from Your Mouth the graces I need to keep my soul tranquil and in peace. O Lord, let not one of your sheep be lost, let the fig tree blossom and the vine bear fruit. Jesus, I trust you...Amen.

Peace that comes from God...

God's Design for Women...

As I look around I see awakenings, suggesting that we are coming into the age of woman, but the age of woman as designed by God, in the image of Miriam of Nazareth. It is our devotion to the Virgin Mary the we can look upon her as our model, to emanate... defending the diginity and the essences of the women God has designed us to be. We as women are given gifts... given to each of us designed to help others develop their talents and charisms.

Fr. Cantalamessa says in his homily...The Age of the Woman
"We might hope that there will finally come, for humanity, the age of woman: the age of the heart, of tenderness, of compassion." I see this happening... it is a new day as "in the beginning" that we are able to love and walk with the Lord and therefore love and help all others...

For All Who Are In Need...

I wanted to share with you something that I heard about today, for all
who are in need at this time. Whenever Mother Teresa felt she needed
urgent help from heaven she used to gather her sisters together and say
what she called her 'Express Novena' . It was simply saying the
Memorare nine times in a row concentrating on Our Blessed Mother. For
all who are ill, or in pain or suffering of any kind today, I pray this
prayer for you. God bless and keep you all, and give you His peace
.

Memorare
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.

Amen.

We need to come together and pray for one another... moving and living in the Holy Will of God.

God bless and keep you all,
Elizabeth

Come Worship the Lord!

Psalm 150

Praise the LORD! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty firmament! Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his exceeding greatness! Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp! Praise him with timbrel and dance; praise him with strings and pipe! Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals! Let everything that breathes praise the LORD! Praise the LORD!

Word of God Speak

And God, he said to me, "Son of man, stand upon your feet, and I will speak with you." And when he spoke to me, the Spirit entered into me and set me upon my feet; and I heard him speaking to me. EZEKIEL 2: 1,2
